What to feed a hedgehog?

If you have hedgehogs in your garden or would like to attract them in we recommend :
a) Leave out a fresh shallow bowl of water.
b) Put out kitten biscuits, a good quality one with high protein content ie. Purina Kitten Chicken or Purina Adult.
c) a bowl of cat or dog meat but must generally only put out overnight and remove in the morning as once flies get to it they start laying eggs then the meat is then of course deemed unsuitable.
Most hedgehogs tend not to like the fish varieties and the same with in gravy they tend to prefer in jelly.
A good general rule of thumb is if there are no biscuits or meat left in the morning it normally means they are not being fed enough (providing not being eaten by cats etc)

Foods that must not be given to hedgehogs ;
MILK WILL Kill!!
MEALWORMS (can cause metabolic bone disease.
ANY FRUIT AND VEGETABLES.

A food box should be a good few feet away from a nesting box as this would attract predators.

Other good food biscuits to feed hedgehogs are
IAMS
Brambles
Please be wary of food labelled "for hedgehogs" as many are unsuitable. Unfortunatley this industry is unregulated.
